When the DC section of the Met Branch Trail opened it ran through and next to mostly industrial sites and old rail yards, but that has changed as residential and office building have sprung up along side it. More buildings are planned, are planned and as opposed to turning a back on the trail, most will open up to it. Some will even have names that salute the trail or cycling, Below is a rundown of them from south to north.
Just north of Union Station work will begin this summer on The Randonneur, a micro-hotel for budget travelers. Their advertising tagline is: “Load up on comfort.”
Derailier - This building looks like a maintenance nightmare. Tagline: “Shift to a new way of living”
The NIMBY. Will feature a design that pays homage to a Kenk's amphipod. Construction date: TBD
Woonerf. No one is actually sure what this is, but it has a lot of common space. Tagline: “Slow down and live.”
Bakfiet - A building featuring 3 and 4 bedroom apartments.
Finally, near Takoma, there’s The Sharrow. This condo will feature a plastic tarp strung across an empty lot. The tarp will have holes in it. Tagline: “Nothing is better”
This was an April Fool's Day Post
Re: The Sharrow: are you sure the slogan isn't "Better than nothing"? BTW - Happy April 1st.

I read this a few days after the post and was totally believing it! Well done, and (kind of) don't I wish!
